Each year Beef & Boards’ Christmas musical production makes us feel we have been dropped into the middle of the final scene of “White Christmas,” the movie starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen.
The theater is so intimate, the food is so good and the company truly makes you feel like friends, not just customers.
That was certainly true for my wife, Linda, and I on Saturday. We were joined by our daughter, Amanda, and dear, long-time friends, Paul and Lois Ridge.
“It is a very talented cast,” Paul said. Paul and Lois attend several Gospel music shows through the year.
But we were also delighted to see Linda’s cousin from Frankfort.
During intermission, I introduced myself to Eddie Curry, director of this year’s show. I told him he had a wonderful production and thanked him for the hospitality Beef & Board’s extends to us as we review the productions throughout the year.
Come to find out, he is very familiar with Brazil.
He graduated from Indiana State and remembers Red Timberman and doing DJ shows at Northview High School in the 1980s for Brian Thomas of Terre Haute radio fame.
