Downtown facade project moving toward completion.

It has taken over a year but the project to use a state grant to install new facades on downtown Brazil buildings is coming along. Originally, it was hoped that more buildings would receive the facelifts but in the end, three buildings will be included in the project: The Elks on Sherfey Street, Jim Deal's law office and The Renaisance, both on National Avenue. "It takes time for a project of that magnitude," said City of Brazil Planning Director Janet McClellan. "The Renaissance is the largest of the bunch." Each of the building owners were required to pay for a relatively small portion of the work and the largest amount came from a grant by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA.)
