We watched a new Christmas movie on the Hallmark Channel Friday night. "Pete*s Christmas" starts slow but is well worth watching to the end. It is loosely based on the old movie, Groundhog Day*. Pete, the middle child is obviously unhappy about his lot in life. His older brother, the jock, picks on him. His little brother, the nerd, wets the bed they have to share when Grandpa comes to visit and his parents forget his Christmas present The characters are not very well developed and come across as cartoonish, but the Christmas message is driven hone by the end of the movie. Pete learns valuable lessons through being forced to relive Christmas Day repeatedly. I would watch it again but probably would not buy the DVD.
